Why Provide Compliance Bulletins

Under the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC) Guidelines 29 C.F.R. §1604.11(f), employers need to have an
“effective prevention program” that is multifaceted to not only include compliance training but also provide other means of support including hotlines, policy reminders and compliance bulletins.  It will also support your legal defenses to avoid liability, costly punitive damages, and brand damage.  Your organization can assert it takes “reasonable care” and makes “good faith efforts” to provide and enforce a multi-approached legal compliance program to prevent and correct harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, including providing an EEO compliance bulletin on a regular basis and in between scheduled training initiatives.
